Tooth preserving operations.

Modern dental technology and experienced professionals can offer a wide range of services aimed at preserving your teeth. Despite the craze for implants, a sane person understands that the best implant is a natural tooth. Modern surgical practice makes it possible to save even severely damaged teeth, such as teeth having significant inflammation at the root apex (with a cyst or granuloma). In this case, a doctor may suggest you a root apex resection or hemisection. These operations are aimed at removing the source of inflammation and saving the tooth.

When performing a root apex resection a doctor removes the nidus of inflammation and an affected apex (top) of the tooth. The wound is filled with a blood clot or a special bone material and then sutured. The operation is performed only if the tooth top is sealed perfectly. Favorable prognosis can be finally given only in 6 months after the surgery. Hemisection is the separation (sawing) of the root of a multi-rooted tooth root and the root that cannot be used is removed, whereas in some time a healthy root can be used to make prosthesis. Thus, only multi-rooted teeth, where only one root is damaged, are suitable for a hemisection approach. In general, tooth-preserving surgeries are an alternative to still expensive dental implants and a chance to use your natural teeth.

Wisdom tooth extraction.

Modern dentistry in many cases allows avoiding tooth extractions, unfortunately sometimes it is necessary to extract teeth.
Tooth extraction surgery should be done only as a last resort, when all other methods to save the tooth are impossible, or when the tooth can cause other, more serious complications.

Cyst removal.

A tooth cyst is a pathological cavity filled in the majority of cases with liquid. The wall of the cyst (bubble) of the tooth consists of a thin layer of cells that produce fluid and inflate a tooth cyst like a balloon.
Dental cysts are different in origin and causes of their formation, but most often dentists deal with radicular cyst.

Tooth removal.

The task of every dentist is to "save and hold in the mouth" each percentage of tooth viability and integrity. But there are cases when a tooth requires removal, for example:

Atypical removal.

Tooth removal is the most extreme treatment method in the oral cavity. Extraction is carried out when the vital capacity of the tooth is not suitable for further function, that is chewing, occlusion retention and space saving for the further construction. Often atypical removals involve wisdom teeth.

Labial and lingual frenectomy.

Labial or lingual frenectomy is an outpatient surgery, which is performed in modern dental clinics. A baby may require frenectomy right after being born, in the maternity hospital, as a baby may have difficulty latching to the mother's breast. Some time later, when the child begins to speak, a speech therapist or orthodontist may refer a child to a frenectomy.
